Look at the above table and what stands out....the top 14 teams with the "Harder" schedules are AFC teams. In fact 16 of the first 17 are AFC, I have not seen anything that illistrates the relative weakness of the NFC
    better than that.

The other thing that stands out is that the Tennessee Titans are playing a tougher schedule than the Super Bowl Champions. The same Super Bowl Champions who also won the Division that the Titans play in.

Yet, we play the tougher schedule? :irked:

    Explain? :suspect:

the colts had a better record than we did, making our strength of schedule harder than theirs.

that would be my guess anyway...

But, it's supposed to be the opposite.

i didn't do a very good job of explaining my point.

we automatically play each other each year being in the same division and we also play essentially the same teams because we're in the same division. the difference in the two teams' strength of schedule is the fact that the colts had a better record than we did last year, which would give us a harder strength of schedule than the colts.

Exactly. Us having to play the Superbowl champs twice gives us a harder schedule than them, who play an 8-8 team (us) twice. You can't put too much stock into SOS. If we were playing the weakest schedule, it would likely mean that we would be playing a lot of up and coming teams. Playing a tough schedule means we could be one of those up and coming teams, while some of the top teams lose a step. None of it is set in stone, but that is usually how it happens every season.
