Some wild Titans stats after six games

    Though the Titans rank 24th in total offense, they are tied with the Chargers (#1 offense) for the most offensive TDs.

    Though the passing game is ranked #29 overall, they are tied at third for most passing TDs.

    The Titans rush the football 53.5% of the time. On third down with three or less yards to go for a first, the run/pass ratio is 50/50.

    Titans rank sixth in red zone scoring (61.90%).

    Titans rank seventh in turnover ratio (avg. +0.7 per game).

    Total defense is ranked #14 but have allowed only eight TDs which ranks them second in the league behind the Steelers (6).

    Opponents have a 33% success rate versus Titans on third down.

    Titans are tied for second in red zone defense giving up an average of one score per game while ranking 31st in red zone attempts allowed (4.3).

    The Titans are fourth in penalties and third in penalty yards.

    Those are some sick stats. The penalties are ugly but I'll gladly take those if that is the tradeoff for our defensive success.

    If we can just get the run game on track and get a little better play by the O-line we will be beastly, assuming VY can keep his play on an upward, or even consistent trend.

    Though stats can be misleading, I think these show the Titans have been opportunistic so far this season.

    No matter how many yards we're giving up it always looks like we're kicking butt. Big plays keep coming when we need them. Too often for it to be considered luck.

    I have to credit Fisher for choosing Cecil.:eek:

    On D we give yards but no TDs

    Game after game we are seeing just how big the Witherspoon and Babin signings were. Not to mention Griffin getting back to form and Tully getting even better in the defense. And let's not leave out the rook, Verner.

    Titans lead the league, AFC and NFC, in point differential at '+82'.

    Jets and Steelers are next closest at +58 and +55, respectively.

    The Texans are -14. :hmm:
