    Well...

On both plays, you expect the defender who made the Interception to be farther upfield. If the DE's kept pass rushing and continued upfield, KC's pass wouldn't have been touched and VY's pass would have gone between the DE and the DT...also not touched.

Personally I don't like 2-3 yd pass patterns unless it's 3rd and 1...and even then only some of the time. Too many times the ball gets disrupted but a DL's hand or worse...for a minimal gain.

Or you could just make a rule stating that D linemen aren't D backs and prohibit them from raising their arms up to deflect or intercept a pass.
I'm only joking of course, but the NFL has waaaaay stupider rules than that.
If O lineman are ineligible receivers and can't push forward on pass plays, why should D lineman be able to intercept passes? EFF that crap.

Not that similar? D-linemen standing in the throwing lane puts their arms up and intercept the pass on bad decisions by the QBs. The only difference is one of the d-linemen wasn't clumsy while doing it.

True, but on Vince's throw the defender is standing in the passing lane before the ball leaves his hand. In fact, there is another defender directly to the right of #91. Vince could see both of them before he threw the ball. If he didn't see them, he's got bigger problems than decision making. On Kerry's throw, the defender was not in his line of sight when he released the ball.

Look at second :44. You will see that the defender is going upfield and the ball has been released. The defender stops when Vince throws the ball and makes the adjustment.
