Sign these 3 guys and end all this WR/RB talk?

    I'll make a deal with you guys. If we can resign gage, sign michael tuner, l.j. smith and bernard berrian in the free agent period would that end this idea of drafting a RB or WR in the first 2 rounds?

    Turner would be a speed upgrade at RB and would make a nice 1-2 punch with lendale.

    Berrian is a productive WR who can get down the field and provides a nice comliment to gage, r williams and jones.

    L.J. smith gives us an upgrade at TE. We will still have scaife one more year RFA so the 2 of them makes us really solid there...

    Cap cost..

    To resign gage, sign berriman, sign turner, sign smith..approx..$23M a year..

    $16M in 08...

    We can draft RB, it's a deep year.

    Try to trade for Roy Williams, you never know what you'll get from a drafted WR outside the first 5 picks.

    TE can be drafted as well.

    I am afraid we would have to overpay for Turner-although I am all for it if he comes for a decent price.

    I am not all that sold on Berrian. I want a true number one receiver. Berrian would be an upgrade over what we have, but I want a Pro Bowl caliber guy-a guy who can go up over a defender and make a play.

    Why does everyone love Bernard Berrian so much? He's average at best. Last thing we need is more mediocre WRs.

    We can't draft RB's at all. Look at our current #1, #2, and #3.

    Lendale is fine, he's a legit situational RB that can start for a decent team (probably not the main guy for a championship team though). If Chris Brown went a puss* he'd be decent too.

    Chris Henry is the terrible pick. Should end all speculation that any big fast guy can play RB.

    Excellent RBs to complete the stable and which will be available at our first round pick and MAYBE our second rounder: Felix Jones, Jamal Charles, Rashard Mendenhall, James Stewart. Do NOT draft Steve Slaton, or anyone not on that list on the first day.

    LJ Smith would be a good free agent target.

    Berrian, I don't get it either. Turner is going to be too expensive and the draft is too deep at RB this year to overspend on him.
