Umm, all of the shoneys where I live have closed down...

My first job at 16 was at a Shoneys. It was the first non fast food chain restaurant in my town, and was real popular. I remember busing on a Mothers Day when the line to get in the restaurant literally went around the building. Started at minimum wage, then after a couple of weeks got a big raise....to $3.55 per hour. All the money in the world back then....God I am old.

They seem to have gotten pretty run down and ghetto in the last decade or so.

Hardees used to be butt. Now it is the best fast food chain going. They've totally changed. I think carl jr bought them or something.

My mom was really fond of the place growing up, so she used to take me there as a kid. My mom almost never goes out to eat, so I have fond memories of the place. I went with her to get desert there after my college graduation. I also remember going there to eat hot fudge cake with my buddy Jimmy and his family after his first dunk in a college basketball game.

With that said, I can't imagine ever choosing to go there and eat a meal under normal circumstances.
