Okay, a question: do you hate all mushrooms or just the shiitake? I mean, it tastes like a mushroom..albeit a bit meatier. And are you using the dry form or the fresh form?... the dry form can be a bit off-putting.

*these questions posed by my fiancee who is a fantastic chef... and Asian to boot :) *

The ones I'm working with are fresh, not dried.

I'm getting the impression that you hate mushrooms in general, as the shiitake isn't particularly unique in any way.

slice mushrooms with onions, garlic or onion salt, a little butter, and some vegetable oil, and whatever spices or other flavorings you see fit,
and simmer on a stove til they all get nice and soft.

Sauteed mushrooms and onions, good with everything. Burgers, pasta, Chicken, Steak. I'm thinking about going by GFS, they have a massive can of the things for like 8 bucks. Should last me for a year.

But if you want to get all the nutrition out of any fruit or veggie, you have to eat it raw. Cooking takes away a lot of the nutritional content.

So not only do cooked carrots taste bad, they're also useless.
