Starkiller, the poster complained about injuries and used that as an excuse for our 32nd ranking. If you want to argue that our players suck then that is a different thing.

  2. Our players, as a whole, did suck.

How many teams were stuck starting a trio equal to Sirmon, Hill, and Thompson? One of them is out of the league, another is a backup who only was signed because of injuries, and the 3rd is inactive every week.

And then you can throw in the lack of any DE depth (LaBoy is nothing more than a pass rush specialist yet was forced to start) as well as a very average set of DTs...

And having an offense unable to sustain a drive doesn't help, either. We had the 4th fewest offensive plays from scrimmage, 4th worst 3rd down conversion ratio, and the league's worst time of posession. We had the most defensive plays from scrimmage in the league.

Obviously, upgrading the positions that we have has everything to do with why we are better on D. Schwartz and Fisher coach the same as they always have... It's worked in the past and it works now.

Calm down .... I thought he was on the Texans for the first game.

This point is still valid is it not? As mentioned by another poster he did not get a huge contract compared to contracts that other players got in this off season.

AH is in a contract year and seems to actually have some stamina, Smith out, Brown starting, Odom starting. So 50% of the line is back and one is in a contact season. AH has already started getting his motivations questioned by the media.

Seems I was pretty clear with my thoughts on why Swartz has not been able to get a solid D together.

If I was classless I would bring up reading comprehension and maybe use "WTF are you talking about" six times .... but I'm not so just skip over that comment.

So you agree that 25% of the time we were playing down 2 guys? Not sure why you would even approach that statement when you have nothing to add?

Do we have Manning or the Colts O? I forget

    Also they played:
Houston - half the team was injured during this game including AJ #1 WR, Jones #2 WR, Green RB went down in the 1st and did not return.

NO - Is in a hole

Denver - who is struggling to score

The Colts D is playing to the competition and yes coaching may play a part in it. Dungy is no push over ....

Yeah I am rushing to get T-Shirts printed up right now ….

Again just because you say something does not actually make it true. Since you seem to have totally lost touch with my original post here you go.

While yes I do say that injuries are a part of the reason our DC does not have confidence in his players. I bolded the sentence you should take a look at ..... again. I never mentioned our D's rank nor did I say certain players suck and others were better. Just the simple statement:

I have been saying for a while that Swartz's problems revolve around confidence in his players to make plays.

    and I stick by it.

Going off on a rant about nothing honestly does not make your argument any stronger BTW.

Yes, we are blitzing. It's not EGALES type of Blitzing, but we have been sending the LB's and Safeties. Take a look back at the game films. And I agree, it's not a quick fix, but it does help to mix it up, instead of calling zone coverages all day, while the D-line spins it's wheels TRYING to get pressure.

Trust me, we would have gotten better strickly based on the Players desire to be better, a Good DC would have only amplified that with a good scheme.

I don't think anyone is talking about firing him right now, We should have fired him at the end of last season, and had a new scheme in place by now, to show how great the D is.

Here's the deal with Schwartzie too. Last year he lost his players. Week in and week out the players were questioning what they were doing out there. They had no trust in the calls being made, and did not have any desire to give themselves to Schwartzie. They seemed to have started dogging it some b/c they didn't want to play for him.

They are professionals and apparently have decided to play hard this year not b/c of Schwartzieregardless, but b/c they have PRIDE.

that link says we are 24th against the pass...
    2nd against the run...

but to our defense, we did just play against manning and brees

Our d is 6th in overall defense in the league and that's a vast improvement over last year. It just goes to show that when giving players who can play Schwartz can be effective.

Again, no one here is calling him a god or saying he's great but he's doing a pretty good job this year. Any argument against that is rubbish. We could find a better coach to replace every coach we have but it's not going to happen...

It's pointless to argue about Schwartz. Our D is pretty solid right now, like it or not, and he'll be here for as long as Fisher is here. We're stuck with him!
