I have to agree. I think a whole lot of Freeman's problems have to do with the coach. Some personalities just do not mesh and I think that giving Freeman a short contract would not be a negative.

 

Freeman can be a starting QB, i was very surprised to see him released.

 

The Titans brought in veteran quarterbacks David Carr and John Skelton last week, but didn’t sign either.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the team also made a phone call to the agent for former NFL quarterback JaMarcus Russell, a former first-round pick who has not played in a game since 2009.

Russell isn’t healthy, and let’s keep it real here: Does anyone really believe the Titans would’ve signed if him anyway? I don’t for a second. The Titans regularly make calls inquiring about players, and they work out players at Saint Thomas Sports Park on a regular basis on Tuesdays.

The Titans ended up promoting Rusty Smith from active roster for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs. He’ll serve as the team’s No.2 quarterback today against the Chiefs while Jake Locker recovers from a hip injury.
