How anyone can want DQwell Jackson and not want Pollard is insane to me lol

Pollard signing with us is HUGE! Dude brings attitude and leadership, not to mention, he got Michelle to step up last year and it takes an early possible lead off of the draft board. I like this signing a lot, even though he isn't the best in coverage. I can live with that.

 

Jackson would have been the fourth MLB I would have wanted if they all hit free agency(Butler included). I'd say Pollard is right around that number at safety. Byrd, Ward and Whitner would have been upgrades, easily.

Ah yes, the devil is in the details. If he is making $2.5 million a year that is good. If he is making $5.5 million a year that is bad.

 

I think its about money. Horton knows hes going to have to get pressure for his defense to be effective. Hes going to have to pay for a DL and LB, unless theres someone in the draft they are sure they can get. They probably just dont want to give the money that better players will demand at the position.

 

I'm pretty happy with the signing. Would have liked to see Ward in 2 tone blue, but I can't hate on this at all. Now go out and get Jackson, Dansby, or Spikes and I'll be a happy man. I've been saying S and ILB are a must in FA and the rest can be done in the draft with the rest of our FA pick ups being role players.
