Turns out we saved 3.25 million by cutting him. CW base is a bit under 2. So at the end of the day, we saved over 1 million by this move. Ill take it

Its hard to get big name FA guys when Titans are small market and dont have loads of money to unload. Look at Broncos and Pats so far. They are throwing lots of money at older guys trying to make that final push for a Super Bowl with their VERY OLD Qbs. How many real chances do Peyton and Brady have left? Are both gonna play into their 40s like Brett Favre?

We are a young team, with new coaches, no true franchise QB coming off another losing season. If you were an older Vet with a few good years left, where would you want to play? With Peyton or Brady OR Jake Locker and Whitehurst/Fitz?

Clearly we have to get better with FA gems and good drafting. A gem is what Pollard and Walker become for us last year.

Agree with everything except the small market part. This isn't MLB or NHL.

Yes revenue sharing makes it so all 32 teams have a fair shot, but Nashville not a small market?

True, we are not a small market the same as MLB. But it does come into play when a really GOOD player is being offered by alot of teams. Unless you can throw more money than someone else, the player makes the decision based on many factors besides just the team itself. Some players dont care about media or attention. But the ones that do like Revis would never play for the Titans unless we paid him like the Buccs had before. He took a $4 mil pay cut to play for the Pats for one season.

Don't read too much into it. Someone on here said he knows the offense style of wis. He is probably here to help locker and the new QB that we Draft. Whitehurst will be number 3

I agree it is a small market but not that being a small market hurts the Titans in FA. On the contrary. NFL guys really seem to like Nashville.

I think this move is key....I TRULY believe we go QB and early now...Whiz wants his guy, and this puts pressure on Locker to step up or step out...He will have Whiteturd that knows his system at least, and draft a rookie for the future, naturally believing that Jake isn't the answer...Get ready for it....and I said on a different thread, it may very well be heavy Offensively, taking a RB and RT as well
