I personally just think it's funny. I said the entire time during the draft that they needed to draft a successor since Favre couldn't have that much more left in the tank.

they chose instead to appease Favre like he was a god; and this is what happened

    I hope it's true

If you listen to Chris Berman that would have upset Brett Favre and the king of football would have retired. WHOOPS.

NFL Network analyst Steve Mariucci has been in touch with Brett Favre, and had this message to deliver: “Everyone needs to calm down a little bit.”

He's just doing all this so that Minnesota will offer him more money and beg him to come back. He sure knows how to manipulate the media. Tell someone who he knows is gonna run and tell everyone that he's retiring and the circus begins. MN panics and gives Favre whatever he wants. I'm pretty sick of hearing about it already but I will give it up to him. He knows what he's doing.

Okay this is what it is. Favre doesn't want to be more of a distraction for the Vikings during training camp. By putting this news out there, it deflects a lot of "Favre focus" off the team for the moment. Everyone knows until week-1 anything is possible. This is the same guy who's been retiring for 8 years now! I'll believe it when I don't see him.

Would anyone be in favor of the Vikings starting 2010 without him, and going 0-6, then they bring him back to win 10 games! Anyone think that could happen???

I've gotten to the point where I think more of this is caused by ESPN than by Favre himself. I used to think Favre was being self centered, but now I think its more ESPNs fault. They are the ones following him all over Mississippi. Favre hasn't said a word about money. ESPN is where that comes from. They are just milking this. I'm not even convinced Favre ever sent any text messages like the ones ESPN claimed started this round of "Favre Watch". I think a lot of this is fabricated by ESPN.
