On Titans Radio shortly ago Floyd Reese said that the trade talks regarding Mac to the Ravens were DOA. Of note, these trade talks were among many different trade talks going on today surrounding the whole roster. Reese said these talks are all pretty standard on the 2nd day of the draft.

Sounds like Floyd is letting Cook/McNair test the market. I still don't think we have any intention of letting him go- just seeing what it will really take to keep him.

The Titans can continue to drive down his market value by refusing to release him and keep him out of Ravens camp. I hope that cool heads will prevail, McNair re-structures at a "reasonable" cap hit. I'd like to see Steve spend his entire career in Nashville. I would certainly patronize any restaurant/sporting good store etc if he did.

I'm just glad to see that I'm not alone in hoping Mac can finish out as a Titan. After our draft picks and free agent signings I do feel that we are on the way back, but the Eddy George thing was hard to swallow. We will never know if Eddy's agent put him up to it or the pride thing got him. It is obvious that the Titans have thrived without Eddy, just like Eddy has thrived without the Titans. Why does Steve think his odds are any better? How much Bus Cook crap has he been fed?

Agents are a "necessary evil" for players. Cook will take all the heat for this if McNair stays and Cook pulls all the strings to maximize what McNair gets. Unfortunately, Cook gets his big money when a new deal is worked out. Bigger deal, more money. Some agents put their client first, some agents encourage clients to "go where the money is." Who knows where Cook is on this one. Some of the best agents seem like the worst guys.

According to the Baltimore Sun www.baltimoresun.com , it sounds like Fish is putting on a brave face only trying to get what they can in a trade.

Sounds like the only reason the Ravens think they have to agree to give up anything in trade is so "Steve has more time to get in a learn the playbook."

I thought the Titans were in much better CAP shape than that article indicated.

We almost have to either cut McNair or get a real CAP friendly deal to sign our draft picks and get some breathing room. Looks like Sirmon will have to take a cut to stay as well.

After the resignation letter I would just escort him out the building anyways
