    Titans responded:

“Our 2016 head coach search was an open and competitive process during which we conducted in-person interviews with four candidates and followed all NFL rules,” the team said. “The organization was undecided on its next head coach during the process and made its final decision after consideration of all four candidates following the completion of the interviews.”

There is no way Mularkey can say they "had no chance to get that job", because that's just not true. Even if he's being honest about AAS and JRob saying the job was his, they still interviewed other candidates. Sham or not, they still had a chance to impress and change their minds. There is always a chance. Isn't that the point of the Rooney Rule? To give other prospects the OPPORTUNITY for a HC job? Once you're in the room, it's your job to blow them away. Just because someone's mind may be made up, doesn't mean it can't change.

Deshawn Watson decided not to sign with the Brown.... and then he did.
Josh McDaniels decided to become the HC of Indianapolis... then he didn't.
    #life.

How many times has a team/ company said "you're our guy!"... and then they're not.

As a Hispanic who appreciates a focus on equal opportunity and has no issues with the Rooney Rule, I have no issue with this. Horton was in the room, face-to-face with the GM and possibly the owner.

As you say, in the final analysis, they simply decided the continuity was more important than unknown potential of the ther candidates. He may have even been told, “looks like you have have the job” or something along those lines. Nt a violation of the rules. The case will have a hard time actually proving anything substantial. The fact that several candidates of color got HC jobs this off-season also hurts the argument.

remember when they said the NHL lacked diversity... when in reality the NHL features players from every continent, its probably the most diverse sport... what they really mean is white people play hockey and we gotta attack them for being white

this lawsuit is basically the same thing
