You’re both right. He’s a second round talent. There just aren’t 32 guys with first round grades.

 

The whole "New England wanted him" or "Steelers wanted him" thing means little for a couple reasons.

1. Pure speculation.
2. They have systems in place that are plug/play.
3. They don't always nail it, contrary to popular belief.

That’s not at all how it works.

Someone has to be picked 1-32. There are not always 32 guys with first round grades or talent, so guys with high second round grades get pushed up.

 

you can grade them however you want but at the end of the day if they get picked in round 1 they are a first round talent.
