How about a new defensive coodinator who has loads of experience with the 4-3 defense. 19 years. He successfully coached young CBs for the Giants the last 5 years and once worked for Joe Paterno.

Oh and he won a super bowl ring as a defensive coordinator. For the Rams in 99!

He was DC for the Rams from 98-2000 and those 3 defenses averaged 13th in total D.

His 99 Rams were 6th in total D, 1st against the run and 4th in scoring D.

A DC that doesn't need on the job training and who has had positive success in the NFL.

The Giants safeties coach is David Merritt and while younger and less experienced than Giunta i would consider giving him an interview for ther DC job. Actually a great guy to replace Robertson as DB coach.

He has done a great job with the Giants safeties the last couple of years.

There are options here people we don't need some other team's leftovers.

Why would either leave the Giants to come here?

Why did he feel the urge to move back to being a DB coach? It was a demotion more than likely. I would rather have a coach who was trusted by 2 teams in the past 5 years to run their franchise (To run our defense) than a guy assigned to one position (CB) on a team known for their DE play.

Move back? What are you talking about? Other than being a DC that is as high a job as he can have. He lost his job to the Rams after one off year(To Lovey Smith).

WTF has Mangini done as a defensive coordinator? One year in his whole career running a defense and they sucked. For the Pats of all people!

Wow what a perspective. My perspective is that he was fired by those 2 teams fpor not doing a good job. Are the Jets better since he left? Is their defense better since he left? Firing him was the best thing they could have done.

Based on your logic Duece's idea of having Mornhinweg as HC is a great diea since a team trusted him to run their team. Of course they only won 16% of their games but a team trusted him!

    Duh, promotion higher pay.

A defensive coordinator is a higher job than DB coach.

Note the similarity of Mangini to Mcdaniels. 2 boy coaches who were vastly overrated simply because of who they coached for. None of Belechick's assistants have gone on to have success away from New England. Anybody notice that? Weis, Mcdaniels, Mangini, Crennel. Similar to the guys who coached for Joe Gibbs.

Compare Jeff Fisher's career record as HC to those guys. Fish comes off like the god of coaches compared to those guys. But dammitt let's hire them all to run our organization! Mangenius for GM!
