The Titans committed 10 penalties for 100 yards during the 31-17 loss to the 49ers.

Safety Bernard Pollard was particularly unhappy with the officiating, barking at the men in stripes as they left the field. He had an interception wiped out because of a penalty against linebacker Akeem Ayers for a low hit on 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

“I said some things to the refs, but that is done and over with, they heard me,” Pollard said. “That is between them and myself. … There were some things that didn’t go our way.”

Ayers had no apologies for the play that resulted in his penalty.

“I can’t look at it like that. All I can do is play as hard as I can,” he said. “It’s a close call. I’m going all out and playing as hard as I can, trying to make something happen for the team. I’m not going to sacrifice the way I play by worrying about penalties.”

Pollard also had a problem with seeing so many 49ers fans leave LP Field happy. Chants of “Let’s Go Niners” could be heard loud and clear toward the end of the game.

“I don’t know how many of their fans showed up,” Pollard said, “but we need to send them off with a loss.”
