I know many posters have expressed angst over our long term future at QB and who will lead us in 2011 or beyond. I understand that. It is always good to know you have a top 10 QB going into a season.

So who will be the heir to KC when he rides off into the sunset hopefully with at least one super bowl ring?

I think ramsey a fromer 1st rd pick could be that guy though not likely it is possible. Why?

    1. Ramsey has never played terrible for any long period of time. Even in his rookie year he had a 72 passing rating and has 5 TDs more than ints in his career.

    2. Ramsey has never been given a 2nd chance. We can't say he didn't get his shot starting 23 games his first 3 seasons but after that the redskins gave up on him and he has hardly played. In the last 4 seasons he has thrown fewer than 60 passes. He was never given a chance to start in 05 with the skins with brunell there and he was with the jets in 06 in a rare season where pennington stayed healthy andthen behind cutler the last 2 years and then discarded by the new regime.

    3. Ramsey's age. He's 30 in his prime years as a QB. Hopefully more mature than he was early on.

    4. The system; if we decide to keep him around for a while he can learn dinger's system and learn to buy into what fisher wants the way kerry has. I think dinger's system is a better fit for him than the steve spurrier system he had coming into the league.

    5. Watching; some of you think that standing on the sidelines increases a QBs knowledge well he has been doing that for the last 4 years.

If ramsey stays on a while he would be 32 and entering his third year with this system in 2011. He might be ready to slide into kerry's role at that time.

all valid reasons. i think it might be a pretty good fit considering the style of football we play.

I can see him being our starting QB for a couple of seasons at most after KC is gone, if it doesn't work out with Vince.

Nonetheless, I agree with Puck here. I imagine we draft a QB in the middle of the draft that the staff feel can be a game manager, because they feel that's all we really need at that position.

The reason he's here is because he knows Dinger's system from Denver.

    Dinger likes him.

He could easily be KFC's replacement. Then again he could be another McCareins.

we should just deliberately lose at least 12 games this season to get the third overall pick. a qb selected that early has to be good, right?

  8. Not likely based on his personal history, but it's not impossible. He wouldn't be the first QB to develop into a starter late in his career.

It depends. I think it is more likely that Fisher is gone at the end of his current contract. The new guy might install an offense that is more balanced then Fishers.

If Ramsey is around and Fisher is around when KC is done and Ramsey has shown he can manage a game (and Young can't) then I wouldn't be surprised. But I doubt it.

Heaven help us if Patrick Ramsey is the future. I think it's far from a sure thing he makes the final roster.
