LOS ANGELES — The family of Karl Malden says the actor who won an Oscar for his role in "A Streetcar Named Desire" has died at age 97. His greatest fame came as Detective Mike Stone in the 1970s TV series "The Streets of San Francisco," in which he co-starred with Michael Douglas. RIP Karl.
97 is awesome! Congrats to Karl on a long and full life. He'll always be "Father Barry" to me. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4XLbRI0kdLg
Streets of San Francisco was a great show for its time (at least before they replaced Michael Douglas with Richard Hatch). Never forget the episode where Michael Douglas was investigating a dead body in the Tenderloin - he finds some red stuff on a counter - so he licks it.. "It's blood alright..." Times have changed (esp in that town)....
