How do we have the fastest rb in the league and continue to use him improperly. We have yet to run one sweep this year. Sounds like to me the titans coaches are setting him up to fail.

Our wins mean nothing if CJ doesn't blow out our opponents for 200+ yards.

Yeah, we have to cater to CJ's personal stats.

Remember? That's what Jeff Fisher cared about.

We do need CJ to gain yards on the ground though.

Have you realized that the way Defense's stop CJ is just to string plays out wide and let everyone run to the ball? if you notice, guys don't attack, they're just staying in their lanes while they let CJ bounce and then just funnell him to the sideline where the extra defender forces him down or hoping he does his best run backwards impression losing more yards or trying to reverse his field.

CJs 2k season wasn't about sweep plays, it was about getting through the first level and then burst through secondarys.

You are correct that a bunch of CJs long runs came running up the middle and then bursting through the second level, but that doesn't mean that is the only way he should get the ball.

Plenty of teams use the standard toss sweep play with plenty of success. Their is no reason for us not to use it. I want to see us be on the hash mark and run the sweep to the wide side of the field. Let CJ get his hands on the ball quickly on the outside with decent momentum. Then either outrace the guys to the sideline or stick his foot in the ground and go.

You can also set up a reverse play off the toss sweep if teams over pursue on CJ. Or have a set play in which the toss goes left, but CJ catches it takes a step or 2 and then has a planned cut back.

The toss sweep is a simple play that every team uses starting in pee-wee league. Why do teams use it? Well because it works. Well why does it work??? because you are getting the ball in one of your best players hands and letting him try to make one guy miss. If that guy misses then you have a huge gain.

yes if CJ ran as hard as he could it would work, but instead he tiptoes outside looking for a hole while the defense strings it out and holds their blockers up clogging and setting up a wall.
