He's not that bad, but yea, he's a project for sure.
I didn't know that stuff youre talking about, but it makes sense. Well I did know he started out as a TE, but the SMU system is foreign to me, never followed them one bit. But anyways, I had the option to switch from FB to DE in high school when our coaching staff changed over, and loved the move. DE is IMO the most fun position to play in football, I can easily see a player choosing to switch to DE instead of transferring to another program.
Very true, I wish I had the size to play DE it just seems like most fun position in the game. The real mystery is what the hell did he love at SMU so much? I guess sometimes things just fit.
Back to the CB thing. Why is it that we can never seem to draft that shut down corner like other teams. I mean the Seahawks got Sherman in the 4th round (I think it was). I mean Verner is good, and McCourty is good for a 6th rounder but we just don't have that stud CB like a lot of other teams seem to. I was hoping Wreh-Wilson was going to be that guy but it sounds like Campbell and Sensabaugh both are running ahead of him.
He may be that guy we're looking for at CB, but he's a rookie, its still waaay early to count a rookie out. Come training camp he could end up being the guy playing opposite McCourty.
When was the last time we drafted CB before the 3rd. Woolfolk in the 1st. Bust. Pacman in the first. Dumb***. Really haven't taken anyone else early besides them and very few of the late round guys turn out to be shut down guys.
Its not hard to be in front of a rookie during OTAs. We will see what we have in Wreh in TC. And who knows Campbell and Sensabaugh could still turn out to be pretty good.
I tend to think they are trying their hardest to give the higher talented TC his shot before dampening his confidence by playing the rookie ahead of him.
