    What if the Raiders were to eat some of his contract? I know that can happen in Hockey and Basketball, but I am not sure if it happens in football because trades are so infrequent? Anybody know if it would work?

    I dont believe so, no. teams in the NFL dont trade cash to each other

    if he was traded to the Titans, I believe they have to pay (at least for the first year) the scenarios of his previous contract

    after the first year, negotiations can be made for a new contract

    Several of the better CBs in the last 5 years were there for the taking in that first rd and other rounds. In fact that draft produced more starting DBs than just about any in history and we got a dud.
