He got beat in coverage by a tight end and slipped. Had it been a decent throw, Tulloch would have looked like LT.

Had he been doing what the mastermind told of him, he would have been wide open...

Remind me again, what was your point, exactly? :grrhee:

The mastermind didn't tell him to jump on the play action. Bulluck was told to go over the top, because they loaded up with big guys, but that doesn't mean the rest of the defense should do the same.

It was nice that he noticed the play fake, but he can thank McNabb for not making him look like LT.

    Jeff's reverse logic..

It was the players to blame when statistically average teams rolled up big numbers on us but now when a supposedly top offense gets stopped(390 yards, 22 first downs) the DC is the one responsible..

Jeff disregards 6 years of bad coaching every time our defense plays average?

We got a big lead that kept them from running the ball as much as we wanted. Schwartz had nothing to do with mcnabb getting injured and nothing to do with pacman's punt return.

We will probably be healthier on defense this week than at any point this season. We have added Brown and Scott. If Laboy plays, this should give us an idea of what our defense really plays like. We have to shut down Shockey, Plaxico and Barber. Let's see what happens.

Jim Schwartz is respected throughout the league. He has been succcessful before as the DC for the Titans. As most here understand, the talent on defense has been rather thin and pale compared to what we had during his successful seasons.

I will say that the move of Steven Tulloch to MLB is showing some signs of having an effect. I don't have stats on hand to verify anything, but it does not seem as though opponents have been gashing the Titans with the run as much as they had prior to him gaining more playing time. He has more speed that Pete Sirmon in reaching the perimeter and getting to the point of attack.

    Schwartz respected?

By whom? Almost every team in the league has made a doormat out of our defense for 3 years running..

As for schwartz's success in the past look at the personel he had to work with in 2002 and 2003 his only 2 years the defense didn't totally suck. A retarded person could have got some decent results out of them and still we were not dominant like in 2000 and gave up a lot of points in the 2002 playoffs. Tommy maddox put 31 points in the playoffs against a schwartz defense that included Kevin carter- bulluck-rolle-godfrey-schulters-tank(pre injury)-sirmon(pre-injury), haynesworth, kearse, dyson, r smith.

Is that a retro post? This is 2006 and the titans have had one of the worst defenses in the NFL for three years running..

We are 12-30 in the last three seasons for a reason.

    Titans have no talent?

Then start a damn fire reese thread because we suck and have sucked for a long damn time. And we have particularly sucked on defense. You want to paint some stupid picture of how the coaching staff are victims of horrible personel then point the finger right at the main personel guy.. Floyd reese..

There is plenty of blame to go around and nobody with a brain can tell me jim schwartz has done a good job and the same goes for his head coach..

That's Fisher's strategy not Schwartz's.... We did the same kinds of things when Williams was here. Look at how many games we had to win by field goals on late drives because we let teams back in it. That's one of Fishers trademarks. He's a conservative coach. Control the clock and the ball while keeping them from getting big plays. It's ugly.

As for Shwartz, there are the same people whining about the same things as they always have on here. They pay no attention to the fact that we have been absolutely horrible on offense for three years running now and that that may have something to do with why we aren't undefeated...:suspect:

TJ is right, it's Schwarties fault when we lose and when there's a good game he gets no credit. That lends me to believe that most of the Schwartz critics on here pay no attention to football reality. The Titans are the second youngest team in the league and are starting to play better. Last year we were the youngest most inexperienced team in the NFL. This year we are a little better that last... That's what rebuilding teams do! They get better!

We released all of our proven vets and replaced them with second hand rookies. (I know, that's no reason to suck and Gregg Williams would have had them knocking QB's heads off. Yeah right..) You don't just win in one or two years with those kinds of players, it takes a while. Which if i'm not mistaking is what Floyd and Fisher both said two years ago when those cuts were made. Talent has a lot to do with who wins in the NFL not just Coordinators and we have been lacking depth with talented players for sometime now. This has been the most useless pointless arguement in the history of man and I'm sure it will continue for a long long time.

It all lies in the talent you have to go into battle with.

Gregg Williams is getting lit up this year like a Christmas tree. Where are alll of the Gregg Williams lovers?

Marvin Lewis's team is getting lit up this year like a pinball machine. Where are alll of the Marvion Lewis fans?

Give any DC talent and they will produce.
