The NFL fined Titans safety George Wilson for a horse-collar tackle in last Saturday’s game against the Bengals. He said he plans to appeal.

Wilson was penalized 15 yards for what officials said was a horse-collar tackle on Bengals running back Daniel Herron.

Wilson is the second Titans safety to be fined in the preseason. Bernard Pollard was fined for a hit in the preseason opener.

Wilson wouldn’t reveal the amount of the fine, but when asked if it was $15,000, he indicated it was dead on.

“I am a first-time offender, so hopefully I can get that reduced,’’ he said. “That’s a lot higher than I thought it would be because it wasn’t intentional or something I tried to do.”

What happens if you have a UDFA that makes an illegal hit? Would they fine him 15k? What if he couldn't afford it, or gets cut in 2 weeks ... that 15k would go a long way for one of those players

So that's at least 2 Titans already fined in 2 PRESEASON games, + that one posted earlier about the Bears guy.

On a record setting pace for league tax revenue of its players.

Jeez.. I'm all for the horse-collar rule, but it was probably an accident. I don't see the need for such a stiff fine for an accidental foul.
