He had a successful rookie year aside from injuries. Had a load full of practice squad players around him. Its the offensive scheme.

Kinda hard for your QB to make plays when you tell him to throw the ball away and live to see another down, instead of keeping the play alive to see if one of the guys down field can get open.

Are you not able to tell from the still shots posted in this thread that the play design is awful? That isn't an excuse, it is a well-known detriment to productivity. See Jeff Fisher.

be that as it may, he's not executing like he previously did. the scheme has always sucked but he's sucking this year too

Fixed. There is blame to go all around even Mariota but he is like 10% of the problem this offense is having.

Oh and I hope you understand what your trying to imply is the issue this year. "Mariota is not executing a scheme that has always sucked" Got it.

I think Mariota at his best is closer to the player we seen in his very first game ever played in Tampa. H es not being used correctly. And hasnt since he arrived. Whisenhunt came closer to using him correctly in his few games with him than Mularkey ever has.

On adjustments...When the defense adjusts on the quarterback. Thats when you adjust your offensive game plan. Let’s see if coordinators like McDaniels, Musgrave and maybe even a Bevell if given the opportunity to coach a player like him would struggle at all with using him. I know they would adjust their plans in game if need be. There is so much more to him than anyone has seen. And that’s due to the scheme.

he executed it well last season but honestly i think it's been worse thirds year. like he's trying to hide and protect mariota instead of turning him loose. have we even gone no huddle this year?!

    LOL

well if timing is still an issue possibly the offensive skill players could have worked on that during the bye week ....
