I got a nice sized cut on my left hand the other day. last night i was in the shower and absent-mindedly put the shampoo right on the cut [and subsequently for lathering. :/] . It burned a bit but i'm not the type for band-aids, or cleaning cuts either. Needless to say, i didn't clean it out after the shower either, [other than obviously the shower. no witch hazel or whatever].

Am i looking at any sort of infection? haha. This is the most fitting place to put this surprisingly.

Blast it with neosporin next time you get out of the shower. Hate the pain love the knowledge you do not have an infection .... well most likely;)

Poor some JD on it?

Sorry, I think that should be - drink the JD and the pain goes away.

The H2Ocean products are amazing. I'm in the veterinary industry and they make a veterinary version of the same product for post surgical healing which has been showing some amazing recovery results. Works wonders on tats and peircings no doubt..

If the wound is open and has no scab formed, it is ripe for infection. If there is a scab formed, you will be less likely to get an infection, but you need to keep the area clean, dry and intact. If the wound turns red, feels hot to touch and is painful, then you have an infection. If it's a fresh cut, I suggest wearing a bandaid during the day and leave it open to air while you sleep.
