I like it...kid doesn't have a strong arm, but he is very accurate, very mobile, and has great character. I'm not sure he won't move up into the 2nd round, and I'd be fine taking him there as well. You don't wait on QBs if you think they're the one.

    Can we say Jevan Snead?

Snead and Locker are nothing alike.

No they are not. But, I think Locker will become what Snead was, and that's a "NOTHING"...

I like Mayock, he always has a strong evaluation of players that I feel tells more about the player than most draft "experts" do. Kiper and McShay are just a couple of blowhards who like to hear themselves talk.

I am willing to take a chance on Locker if he falls to us in the 2nd but I would NOT take him @ #8. There is a good reason why this kid would've been the #1 QB had he come out last year so I don't believe that he is somehow a poorer QB after staying for his senior year.

Our NEEDS on defense are much greater than our wanting a QB, so we should definitely go D in the first 3 rounds unless a guy like Locker falls to the 2nd or a guy like Ponder is there in the 3rd.

To be fair, Mayock also said Brady Quinn was going to be a franchise quarterback.

Everyone misses...but I think he is much more accurate then Kiper or McShay. Mayock calls it like he sees it.

Quinn was a pretty easy bust call. Maybe I just watched too many ND games to know what he was about. Never got the hype the entire time I watched him and knew he had to be frustrating for ND fans. All the records don't always make you a great QB.

This is true....I watched every snap he took at ND, including 3 games live. The receiving group we had when he was there was unreal, including 2 Tight Ends now playing on Sunday (Fasano and Carlson). That being said, I did have him rated over Jamarcus Russell. I thought Russell had bust written all over him, and while I didn't see Quinn as an elite "franchise" QB, I thought he could be an NFL starter. Honestly I thought he would have a career path similar to what we have seen from Chad Henne.
