You're the biggest Mariota hater on here, yet you claim Matthews catching 53 balls for 795 yards isn't good enough?

Rishard Matthews would've been super legit in a real offense.

Even with piss poor stats, admit he was still a baller who we could trust.

 

I would too if staff told me I wasn't able to run routes past 8 yards.

 

That first sip of Zima gonna hit him hard too.

 

And please don't bring up his stats with a rookie QB and a dysfunctional team with the Jets.

Just admit that we should've never gave up on Matthews.

Huh? Matthews missed almost the entire preseason due to injuries. So he missed working out in the new offense so we knew it would take him weeks to get comfortable. Matthews even said he knew his workload/snaps would be dramatically reduced while he learned the offense.

Three games later and he blows a gasket that he's not getting enough PT and targets...even though he hasn't shown he knows the offense yet. He walks out and quits the team. He could have quietly gone to the Titans and asked for his release but it went public pretty quick, which killed our option to trade him.

Matthews is a vet and has been around long enough to know how this works. For whatever reason, he decided to quit and that's BAD for everyone...most especially to Matthews.

Teams don't like quitters!

He went to the Jets where he was used even less. Not a good idea for Mr. Matthews!

 

How did we do him wrong?
