Yeah well let him run then or let’s use only 3 Olineman and assure he doesn’t have a clean pocket and we win according to your logic . Wish people would use their brain and or common sense.

    That was irrational.

"He struggles from a clean pocket."

"WELL THEN WHY EVEN PROTECT HIM AT ALL?!!"

Feels like an argument that I'd have with my mom back in middle school.

Just curious why you chose to create these 'tiers' like this? First, his ranking means very little compared to the league. What is more important is the actual stats since that is based on how well he's doing his job. If he has a 48 QBR and several other qb's played poorly also and he ranked top 10 with below avg play, the stat is meaningless since he's not winning us games with that too often. I'd rather see a poll about where he is in qbr at the end of the season...40-49, 50-59, 60+.

Second, if you were determined to have tiers, Id use 3 tiers. Top 1-10, middle 11-21, and bottom 22-32. Top 10 played better than the others, the middle 10 are good to mediocre, and the bottom 10 need improvement or replacing. Currently, the difference between a tier 2 (at 16) compared to a tier 3 (at 17) is negligible and means nothing except for fans to argue over 'bragging' rights!

Is it hard to believe that some people might think/hope that with a better run game, ol, and receivers than he's ever had...that at best he could do better than he's ever done given the better team around him? Of course it doesn't mean it will happen...but not hard to understand the rationale.

Just like the rationale of the haters is that no matter the OL, run game, or wr's improvements, Mariota will play at his worst. Doesn't make much sense...but also not impossible either.

Clearly you don't understand how negotiating works! What do you think happens? The qb asks for a gazillion dollars and the GM just says ok?

How do you think they negotiate? They use every stat and comp available to compare production/play to cost taking into consideration age, experience, production, offensive system, blah blah blah. You can better believe if dinging the QB for his qb rating or qbr saves the franchise a few mil or more, they'll do it. Both sides use EVERYTHING at their disposal!

Dont let stats fool you on evaulating a player. I'm not a big fan of Marcus (use to be), but I'd rather take him over all these overrated QBs like Foles & Goff that benefit fromthe overall talent they have around them.

Game on the line, I wouldnt choose alot of QBs before Marcus. Saying all of that, I'd be okay with moving forward with a new QB if he stinks it up this year.
