    The one year Volek played? That was also McNair's last year in Tennessee.
    I can't remember any other backup "outplaying" McNair.

    Separate note: I thought Volek played well enough to get at least one year as the starter after McNair was gone.

    Yep. Came off the bench and put up big numbers. Offense had been dead for a while and everyone blamed the WR's for McNair's struggles. Volek killed that excuse really quickly.


    And he did. Unfortunately, pissed Jeff-Petty-Ass-Fisher off. So no go. Also called out the offensive issues with Chow, I believe. Didn't go over well.

    So then he rode the bench in SD for an eternity.

    We don’t know what’s going to happen this season, but the offensive scheme definitely held Mariota back last season. Remember how this would all of a sudden become a good offense when we were in two minutes and Mariota was calling the plays at the line? We all saw it. It’s also why Mariota got the most comeback victories of his career.

    Not exactly. But it is time for him to put his name into the elite category however at the same time you have to expect there will be some mistakes along the way with learning an entirely different scheme.

    I see a big improvement in Mariota this year, last year was terrible, so that's easy to say.

    I think he has the drive to get better and along with a staff playing to his strengths will help.

    Marcus Mariota must improve these six stats for Titans to win

    Mariota will not struggle this year, this is why I cant take DW serious. Any half good QB thrives in this system, and hes had thr entire offseason to get better.

    Wont be at all surprised when he tops 30 TDs
