I never noticed how long an NFL game was until I watched an Atlanta United game.
Ah yes, good time to plug that thread
Yeah the score-commercial-kick-commercial is super annoying. It kills the flow of the game. At the very least don't have the commercial directly after the kickoff.
Kickoff and then game play for a while. Fans are eager to see if their team is going to score or if their teams D will stop them... Not so eager to see a commercial about pills for erectile dysfunction for the 6th time in an hour...
I applaud them for having a small shred of integrity and not doing that actually.
That's the real killer, nothing like seeing the same commercials 5 to 6 times a game.
It's either like you said, pills for your dick, beer, or Matthew mcconaughey in a black Lincoln
They should just do a ticker at the bottom of the screen every 30 mins or so. We all know what products are out there and have saw the commercials a hundred times... Keep the game going and scroll some cool quotes across the bottom of the screen ..
"And don't forget, we have these dick pills!" -Cialis/Viagra etc
"Life sucks, get drunk!"-Budweiser/Corona etc
"These things called cars exist, try one!"-Ford/Chevy etc.
Goodell sent out this letter to fans this morning,
Can someone please forward this to the NCAA? The grievances I have against the NFL for these game timing pale in comparison to the ridiculous length of NCAA games, particularly on CBS.
Agreed, if I buy a jersey for a team I support I don't want to be a walking ad. What if my team gets sponsored by a product I f'ing hate?
How much revenue is gained on jersey sales? I would foresee ugly ads on jersey reducing that aspect. I know I'd never buy one. So does that offset the new found revenue? Might not be worth it.
As for the commercial, kickoff, commercial, I've always hated it. I'd love for them to change it.
