    Watching that play again is killing me. Wish Jake was a little more informed of how things work. Hasselbeck would have stay in that pocket keeping his WR's as receivers.

    BUT this IS why we signed Hasselbeck after all, to get Jake ready.

    the pocket was a hazardous place because Jesus Scott and Enrique Amano were doing some of their Mexican blocking - as usual.

    If we make the playoffs then that last play will be a great learning experience for Jake. If we miss the playoffs, well I don't even wanna think about it.

    Once Locker leaves the pocket, illegal contact can't be called. Pass interference can't be called at all unless Locker passes the ball. Defensive holding can be called anytime.

    However, IMO, there was plenty of contact while Locker was in the pocket. Some of it inadvertent, others not.

    Call it sour grapes but I don't think the refs wanted to call anything which would determine the outcome of the game. It would have had to be blatant.

    First of all, you can never have pass interference unless the ball is passed. Secondly, the tangling of feet is supposed to deemed incidental contact with no violation. That has been recognized since the mid 80's.

    It wasn't a missed call because under the rules it is definitely NOT pass interference. Without the ball being passed the only call possible is defensive holding or tripping. Tripping has to be intentional and holding requires using the hands.
