It's not hard to win games with great talent. Urban Meyer can't actually COACH though. He got outcoached by Loyd Carr of all people (the same year Carr was fired for being an out of date coach).

Look at Florida's offense. Any time someone contains their 2 weapons, what happens? Meyer can't figure out what to do when his talent isn't simply bullying other teams. He has no idea how to adjust, how to strategize, etc. He's an "I hope my 2 guys dominate today, or I'll lose" type coach.

But...you guys see wins and think he's great. Just like Fisher. What it must be like to be soooo simple. *Sigh*

That is complete crap. Ron Zook had the same level of talent as Meyer and couldnt do **** with it.

Plus, explain his success at Utah and Bowling Green. Surely you arent going to try to tell me those programs have great talent too.

And provide an example of a game where he was simply out coached. And please, dont give me the capital one bowl. Florida scored 35 that game and had 400 yards of total offense, so obviously his offense played well (with a QB with a broken hand I might add), but Michigan and Carr were just more inspired, which often times happens in the non-BCS bowls.

Lane better come ready to work...UT's problems will take more then just a "good" recruiter.

This is just weird to me, Lane gets the HC job... When everyone knows that Monte is more credible. This should be the other way around, son under father instead of father under son. Either way the Vols should have one hell of a coaching staff with the ablitly to put loads of talent with it. Gonna be a damn good football team in years to come.

monte kiffin has said throughout his time in tampa that he doesn't want to be a head coach. if he did want to be a head coach, he would have been one ten years ago when the bucs held the greatest show on turf to 11 points in the playoffs.

Monte won't be going on the recruiting trail much if at all. BUT, when you introduce the player to the guy who invented the Tampa 2, that is recruitment enough. This talk about Kiffin being a good recruiter are incorrect. He is a GREAT recruiter. One of the very best when he was at USC. Probably the best national recruiter there was. So with the staff that is rumored to be coming, I'm willing to give him a shot.
