Don't let all the smoke get in your eyes, but this was posted on a Texans board today...

This from the ESPN announcement tonight.
    http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2302213

"A Broncos source told ESPN's Chris Mortensen last week that the Texans told USC that Reggie Bush would be selected with the No. 1 pick, despite a rise in public sentiment after the Rose Bowl that Houston select Texas quarterback Vince Young.

That assurance was given because it was in line with Kubiak's philosophy.

A Broncos source told Mortensen that Kubiak believes current Houston quarterback David Carr can flourish with a new offense headlined by Bush and wide receiver Andre Johnson."

If you were hoping that this franchise might turn around, recognize its weaknesses, and act accordingly, this has to give you pause.

    Oh yeah. That too.

Surely whomever they draft at #1, pick #2 has to be O-Line, OT more specifically.

    As does picks 3-7.
I bet you will see Alex Gibbs (former Broncos OL Coach, consultant on the Falcons) be the OL Coach in Houston.

their best option is trading down with the jets and taking d'brick.

And who would the Jets take - Bush, Leinart or Young?

And why would the Jets trade for the #1 when they are having serious CAP problems? The Jets are better off staying where they are or even trading back to get more bang for the buck.

    Also from ESPN:

He (Kubiak) said he hasn't evaluated Southern Cal running back Reggie Bush or Texas quarterback Vince Young, but that he's excited about getting to work on deciding who the Texans will pick with the No. 1 draft choice.

While he didn't have much to say about possible draft decisions, he said plenty about Houston quarterback David Carr, the top pick in the 2002 draft.

"I'll find a way to make him successful because it's in him," Kubiak said. "I'm a David Carr fan. I like the skills he has. There is no reason that David shouldn't be a successful quarterback."

Sounds like Bush or a trade down.

Guess we'll know a little more by the Pro Bowl, when they have to decide whether or not to give Carr his bonus, but according to McNair, that doesn't preclude them from taking Young.
