That's fair.

I'm just not as down on our pass rush as other people. We were one of the best in the league in terms of sacks last year. Say what you want about the competition they came against, but the Jags pressured Brady 9 times. Constant pressure isn't a sure thing against tough competition.

It's pretty comparable in the shotgun formation, especially when the QB steps back.

Could be. Maybe more emphasis is put on solidifying the interior OL positions as well. The old adage was that Guards and ILBs could be found later in the draft, but that has obviously changed.

 

Like everything else on this defense, the pass rush is average. AND Morgan and Orakpo are both in the last year of their deals. Were have to do something on the outside.

Yup. I'm sure that's why JR reached on Dodd, just didn't work out. Can't see both those guys being resigned, and both are getting up there in age. Now would be a good time to try to get a young guy who'll be able to take those positions over.

 

"Reaching" is definitely a term used in hindsight. He had first round/early second round grades in him.

Landry is a completely different kind of rusher. I watched his 2016 tape against Clemson, and if we could get that player, it would be great. He just had a down year in 2017 for whatever reason, but that game was impressive.
