Someone reported that the reason Parkey isn’t back is because of Parkey. He apparently is dealing with family issues or something and is choosing to stay at home.

I don't think kickers are always trying to kick it through the endzone. If you can kick it high and force the returner to return it, you stand a good chance of getting him down inside the 25. Maybe it's the other 10 guys on kickoff team that aren't producing.

If he was hanging up the kickoff and putting it on the goal line, I’d think you could be right. But that’s not what is happening.

He gets the occasional TB so are those mistakes?

Someone had to do it, so I did.
This is each Kickers KO numbers and avg. take with it what you will.

    Santos - 21KO, 12TB, 9 returned.
Of the 9 returned, avg KO to 1.2 yard line, avg return to 24.5

    Parkey - 12KO, 9 TB, 3 returns (1 KO returned was from the 50)
Avg kick to 4, avg return to 22.3

Succop - 16 KO, 3 TB, 1 onside, 1 squib (not counted as return), 11 returns
Avg kick to 1.1, avg return to 25.9

    Santoso - 16 KO, 8 TB, 1 onside, 7 returns
Avg kick to 4.1, avg return to 27.
He also loses points for supposedly being a specialist at this.

This shows me succop doesn’t have the leg for TB.
Since moving on from Parkey and Santos, the avg start position has gotten worse. 100% TB would be an improvement.

This also shows me that those short kicks Santoso does, are actually worse for the avg starting field position. He’s got the leg for TB (5/6 against Oak), that’s what he should be doing.

Yeah. He had ONE job. Seriously.

Parkey might have held out for more $$$. Whoever comes in, I expect Succop to be put on IR by tomorrow.

JR will probably just stick with Succop

    I hope not.

On The Zone this week, a guy called in and said Succop's longest FG in warm-ups Sunday was 37 yards.

Someone said Parkey had family issues which is why he wouldn’t resign.

I did see that Tennessee tried out Maher.

IF Santoso’s 1 job was to kick TB (still not sure) he kicked 5/6 against Oakland. If that wasn’t what he was for, I truly don’t know what he was “special” at.

Oh wow that’s awful, it shouldn’t be that difficult to find someone that can make anything inside of 40 yards 75% of the time. If Succop misses them
In warmups with no pressure he’s definitely done! Sign Carli Lloyd that female soccer player was making 55 yard field goals look easy!!
