Kevin Byard in 2021

Could also be the fact that Bowen was only half-a$$ DC last year and the players knew it wasn’t working. Byard, Evans, and Simmons are at least 3 guys complaining about commmunication.

 

Bowen needs to take the reigns as a full DC, either he sinks or swims.

 

If the same Byard comes out week 1 playing like 2020, please trade him Jrob, we can get the same production for a fraction of the cost.

 

Im taking Byards commentd in the days after our season ended, over these more recent comments after Bowen has been named DC.

Guy basically spoke about how bad the D was, and then said Bowen was DC in all but name. It read very much like 'if you want someone to blame, thats your guy'

 

If he comes out flat again then yea, shop him.

Trouble is hes owed $11M in new money in 2021, whos taking on that money for a C- level FS? No one

 

Except he is a top 5 FS, not a C- level FS. A bunch of teams would take him. In a heartbeat.

Not after this past season lol he was terrible and just got paid. No one is trading anything of significant value for byard.

 

Except that’s not true. It may be your opinion, but that’s not how that works. He is a top 5 FS. He is 27 years old in his prime and had a bad stat season on a really bad defense. He isn’t going anywhere, but he would be gone in seconds if made available.

 

No one trades anything significant for players like this in the NFL anyway. A 4th maybe. But they would pay his salary in a heartbeat. He is a really good player who had 1 bad season on a defense that played horribly as a whole.
Some of you guys are plain silly. You are in love with players from other teams and hate your own teams players. You don’t get rid of players like Byard in their prime. You just don’t.
