His signing bonus cost us $1.8M in cap space for the next 4 years if he is on the team or not. Already paid.

His $4M salary is not extreme for a guy who can rush the passer.

The test will be next year when his salary goes up 50% to $6M. You don't want to pay that much for a guy unless he is significantly productive. He should be motivated this year so he can get that nice salary next season and hopefully he delivers so we can focus on other areas in the draft.

Did they consider moving him to linebacker? He was a starting 4-3 linebacker who played DE in passing situations with the Raiders. He averaged 60 tackles and 7.5 sacks for them doing that.

With his athleticism we should find ways to use him.

Wimbley didn't play poorly last year. He did get beat up a bit in the running game, but he was consistently double-teamed. That helped open up Morgan's game, so give him credit for giving us hope that Morgan pans out. Does everyone have a selective memory? What did he have like 6 sacks last year? I think we were hoping for double-digit sacks from him, but we knew all along that it was the best we could do after the Peyton chase. We didn't want a DE in FA last year, we wanted a dominant DT that could rush the passer (super Mario). That would have opened up our ends to get to the passer. We got stuck with the best of what was left after D-Bag went to the Broncos and Wimbley was it.

I hate to get off subject, sorta, but is it just me or does Ropati Pitoitua seem reeeeaaaaalllly sloooow? Seems like more than once I have seen him rush upfield only to have the back blow by him and he looked as though he was in slow motion. Didn't look like he could change direction fast or at all.

Find me a 6 foot 8, 315 pounder who can move quickly lol.

Hey, the Falcons offered me a 1st rounder for Wimbley in Madden.. maybe we'll get lucky!

I'm not giving up on Kam yet. Let's see what he does this year. If he plays poorly again, then he needs the boot.

Kam played great in the 2012 preseason, then stunk it up all season long. Vice-verse this year maybe??

He'll benefit more this year coming off the bench for pass rush situations and staying fresh.
