If they don't hit a better opportunity in the draft, then it's time to look at options. Right now, I'd shut it down in free agency unless there's some kind of perfect fit for something Whiz or LeBeau wants.

Also add in : he'd be muchhhh cheaper than Levitre as well.

And apparently he may "want" to play for the Titans - not something you hear every offseason ...

"There's no telling what "checking in" means on Blalock's behalf, but perhaps it's an indication Blalock would like to play for Tennessee. He could be a cheaper alternative to overpaid LG Andy Levitre opposite Chance Warmack. Mar 16 - 3:29 PM

I would sign him and bring in a rookie G as well. Cut Levitre's soft ass.

And he retired because he didn't generate interest...

PFF rated him 26 of 78 guards, which I don't like PFF or their ranking methods but anyway he was I guess a decent starter last year.

SO.... Is he a victim of the new salary cap structure where veterans make more than younger players? It's surprising to me that nobody would want to upgrade the guard position due to player expense (in this scenario). I certainly would've rather the Titans offer an expensive 1 year deal or moderate 2 year deal to try and replace Levitre. You know, something that doesn't hurt the cap down the line.

Why retire? Stay in shape and you never know you could get a call. Week 1 is still a good ways away.

If he just didn't have it anymore, I could understand why he retired.
