ok, ive put down some random stats for an imaginary team, and i want you guys to try and guess what record this IMAGINARY team would have.

    .250 11 Home Runs 19 Stolen Bases
    .278 0 Home Runs 20 Stolen Bases
    .274 20 Home Runs 75 RBI's
    .336 12 Home Runs
    .263 11 Home Runs
    .308 8 Home Runs
    .281 7 Home Runs
    .229 5 Home Runs
    .263 10 Home Runs

what record would you give a team like that up to now in the regular season, meaning around 130 games played.
just curious, it would be helpful to get a bunch of opinions....

All depends on how good the pitching is. Those aren't overwhelming offensive numbers...

And as a Nats fan, I can tell you you're using their lineup, although you were generous with some of the averages.

i based it off of last weeks averages, because we are slumping right now...

Have The Nats ever done anything but slump? They are even worse league doormats than my team The Reds - and we're talking National league...

well when you start out 9-25, and play close to .500 ball up to that point, its pretty hard to get back in playoff contention, a couple of times we were the hottest team in baseball going on spans like 14-3 and 10-5, but after that we usually slump and get swept or loose 2 out of 3.... 3 out of 4...

At least you didn't mortgage off most of your top prospects at the trade deadline, only to stumble down the stretch and most likely miss the playoffs.

Every single team goes thru those same stretches - even the cellar dwellers. Pitching is everything and teams that don't have it don't contend.

we have pitching, just not the same guys as we had in the first half, all 5 starters in the begining of the season, are either Released, injured, or sent down in the minors, one did all 3, Jerome Williams, what a joke...

we just got Shawn Hill back, who got injured in the 7th inning of a perfect game, that was depressing, Jason bergmann got injured in the 6th inning of a No-No, but hes comming back in a few days, Joel Hanrahan (3-2) and John Lannan (2-2) have shown flashes of being great, Tim Redding (3-3) is a veteran pitcher at 29 who is just now getting back on track. Mike Bascik is garbage, we just need 1 more hitter and an Ace on our staff, and we are set.
