Leading sacker in the history of college football. Had 2 against Mississippi State. I'd take 1/3 of his production from college last year and be ecstatic.

This from the guy who's been arguing Rodgers can't win because he hasn't had a supporting cast (which he certainly has at times).

He said he's a good dude...or something to that effect...but that it was too early.

And yet, you make up a negative thought...again!

This is dumb on many levels...but if you start with not even knowing who we actually drafted? Not good!

My biggest complaint about JRob is he hasn't adequately addressed our biggest need going into this year, pass rusher.

I like the Simmons pick, but we needed someone for this year as well. I'm not holding my breath on Wake. Hopefully Honor takes a big step this year.

I'm surprised nobody is banging the drums harder for McCoy since he is technically still out there.

I think they are looking at this from a number of perspectives. First, the defense played very well (overall) and that the offense needed the most help. With a better offense, our defense should be better. Second, Wake and Landry should give us more outside pressure than we got from Rak and Morgan. Third, we may see an improvement by having Evans add some more pass rush both on the outside (OLB) or by blitzing him from the inside.

Lastly, I think they think they have enough and we may get a boost late in the year with Simmons possibly.

I was banging the drum hard for Suh since he fits what we need in so many ways (can play any position on the DL and plays pass and run equally well and can play a lot of snaps). The other reason is we only need him for one season.

To get McCoy, we most likely will need to sign him to a multi-year contract and I don't think we want to pay another DT for big money for multiple years given the expectation that Simmons should be a big contributor by next year. A one year rental made more sense!

I agree. I'd say we are in much better shape pass rush wise than we were last year. Wake and landry should be a big improvement over Morgan and orakpo, who brought very little last year.

When Simmons is ready to go, the D should be elite. Hopefully that is the playoff push and playoff run this year.
