Yeah I noticed that.. Walker will be dearly missed.

 

Jonnu will be good when he learns how to block. Right now he's just a liability when it comes to pass protection.

 

And going against the Texans front 7 isn't a time to have such a liability in there. I do think he'll get it though, I'm a fan of Smith.

 

Smith had a “wham” block that sprung a big play for us.

 

We listed him as designated to return. It's entirely possible he's back depending on the break and how much ligament damage there was.

That said, Smith actually did a solid job blocking. Still want to see us get him involved in the passing game more, he's an athletic weapon. But with Gabbert in we're probably going to remain very vanilla on offense.

 

There was a very nice play set up for him, which turned into that Gabbert double throw. But there didn't seem to be anyone near him, had the ball made it to him.
