Posted by ESPN.com's Paul Kuharsky

Jones-Drew

Running back Maurice Jones-Drew said the Jaguars could beat every team in the playoffs on Dan Patrick's radio show Wednesday, but ultimately conceded it was the competitor in him talking.

Here's the kind-of-funny part of the interview:

Maurice Jones-Drew: I'm very disappointed that we're not playing. You see some of these teams that are out there playing, they earned the right to get there, but I felt that we matched up well against some of these teams.

Dan Patrick: OK, who's it that you think you're better than?

MJD: I think we're better than everybody. I don't think there is a team that can match up with us. I think we beat ourselves this year, to tell you the truth.

DP: Well, that's a pretty big disappointment then, if you're better than everybody left Mo-Jo, but you guys didn't make the playoffs. Who do you put the blame on?

MJD: I put it on ourselves, we beat ourselves. There is nobody to blame. You know that. I'm going to tell you the difference between me and you and it's a difference with our jobs. I'm a competitor and so at all times if I feel like I have a chance, I feel like I can succeed, I can be successful. You being a sports talk guy, you're not a competitor, so anytime you get a chance you just find someone to blame it on.

Other tidbits from Jones-Drew:

• He questioned the concept of an "every-down back," but said San Diego's Darren Sproles can be one. Jones-Drew pointed out that he is 5-foot-8 and 210 pounds while Sproles is 5-foot-6 and 180. He said he is pulling for Sproles to continue to do well because it will help stop teams from being scared of smaller backs.

• He said he is sticking with the AFC South in the Ravens-Titans game, saying Tennessee has "game-breakers" on offense, something the Titans don't hear used to describe many of their players beyond Chris Johnson.

• He likes Pittsburgh against San Diego.

• He said he prefers UCLA's blue to the Jaguars' teal: "I love the Jaguars, but I am not a teal guy."

• Back to the 5-11 Jaguars and their absence from the playoffs: "I'm very angry that we are not in the playoffs, that's my deal. I don't like watching other people play. It makes me angry."

    • He said he prefers UCLA's blue to the Jaguars' teal: "I love the Jaguars, but I am not a teal guy."

He secretly wants to be a Titan

I'd imagine anyone on that roster wants to be a Titan at this point.

The glue on the tarps must not be dry.

They beat themselves 11 times? Including Cleveland and Cinci? I guess losing to every playoff team you faced should also not be considered in this.

Ladister (High School coach) would be ashamed MJD! De La Salle produces smarter kids then this.

A team that beats themselves 11 times = a really bad team
