Jason McCourty for GM!!!

Regardless of what that says, Revis hasn't been known for that at all, so until I see it, I don't believe it lol

 

Well, so much for this idea, move along folks.

Free agent FS Devin McCourty would be okay with the Patriots' franchise tag.

It appears that's where this is heading with McCourty, who would stand to make around $9 million in 2015 on the franchise tag. Not a bad deal. McCourty would be one of the highest-paid safeties in the league and get another crack at free agency next offseason as a 28-year-old should he and the Patriots not hammer out a long-term deal. He's not going to reach the open market in two weeks.

 

Same with Houston. They're both either getting tagged and/or signed long-term.

 

If that is the case, we need to be frugal as far as bringing people in.

 

We can afford to get Torrey Smith and Mike Iupati... amongst some others. Worilds if we wait for his market value to settle in around $5-6mil a year.

 

I've got mixed feelings on Smith.

Well no sh*t, but he's going to be way more expensive and harder to lure away from Philly IMO.

 

As do I, but he's better than anything we have, and we are desperate at WR right now. He'd be more affordable than the top name guys. Same goes for Crabtree.

We don't have the luxury of being able to lure elite WRs here right now... unless we just throw them a ton of guaranteed money.

 

Torrey Smith and Anquan Boldin are why Joe Flacco is swimming in a pool of money, Id gladly have Smith in here to catch 60-yard bombs from Mett/rookie
