Matt Jones arrested for felony cocaine possession

    Matt Jones, WR JAC
News: Fayetteville police say Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Matt Jones was arrested early Thursday on a felony drug charge after officers found him in a parked car, cutting up what was suspected to be cocaine. A police report says officers approached the car and found Jones inside, using a credit card to chop up a white substance. Police say an officer drew his handgun after Jones did not immediately show his hands. Police say they found a jar with possible marijuana residue inside the car and a plastic bag of what was likely cocaine. Officers say Jones admitted he had cocaine. Police say two others inside the car were also arrested on misdemeanor drug charges.

Doesn't he know you're supposed to cut your credit cards up rather than cutting up with credit cards?
That's no way to manage debts.

so what your saying is that one rail or whatever and it's death... lights out... addict forever? don't you think that sounds like a bit of extremism? i have no issue with a good healthy fear of cocaine. It's a dangerous narcotic. Too often it results in addiction and a deterioration in quality of life. It would take an incredibly strong individual to bump and stay away from that.

I think athletes would stand a better shot to demonstrate control than the average guy. Athletes have huge salaries that can be gone forever so there is a sick element of risk. By in large, for the most part, despite popular belief, they're really damn smart when it comes to sensible reasoning. Cap numbers, agents, worth, playbooks, game plans etc... just general discipline puts them at an advantage. It's not easy to keep the kind of routines they keep.

Athletes stand a better shot than some to recreate and maintain balance even if the money is not an issue. They have investment and post career plans to concern themselves with. Most athletes stay away from blow anyways but certainly doesn't shock me that athletes do it.

    #1 they have money

#2 they have time in off season to avoid detection

#3 they have or at least believe they have control

especially athletes? Bah. Athletes think they can do it. They think they can beat it. They are up to the challenge. They have the means. The have the opportunity in the off season. Why the hell not? It's really common to see athletes mess around with it.

I'm intrigued by why you are "especially" amazed? :hmm:

these guys get bored all summer with nothing to do and they end up doing stupid things to pass the time. Sleeping with Whores, Shooting at People, Doing Drugs, Drinking and Driving, Punching people in the face, Gambling etc.... it's like a bunch of Teens on Summer Break.

These Players need to start a family or stay with their families, mower their own yards, clean their own cars and houses, take out the trash ,pay the bills etc... so they can stay out of the streets and out of trouble. Hell if i was rich and played in the NFL my off season i would work on muscle cars in my big garage or go fishing with my family and grow a Garden. these guys sleep all day get up with nothing to do and a bank full of money to blow. that = bad things.
