Is Our Society Manufacturing Depressed People?

This article really cuts to the issue. Society has veered way off course and is still driving in the wrong direction. Whatever we're doing now isn't working. We're still stuck at this massive rate of depression.

Social media, aka people's life highlight reel, is unhealthy. It makes you think your life is **** because everyone else's looks so happy.

I wiped my facebook a few weeks ago...deleted all posts and comments (which I've been doing for a couple years anyway) and unfriended everyone. I figure that anyone who really wants to follow me will just re-friend (two have), and everyone else can use actual phone calls and texts.
It has been a good experience. It's a hard habit to break, but the irony is that my wife has complained for years about my social media time, and now she's the one surfing social media while I just stare around the room or just visit this site. I'm getting more done at home now and am less annoyed at the things I saw in my little window to the world.
As for depression, I'd just like to say that alcohol is a depressant. When I stopped treating depression with a depressant I stopped being depressed.

    As it's always done.

Keep people "humble" or depressed. Don't let them think they can live their dreams or work to their potential. Keep them buying. The end.

I just ended my facebook run, also.

I realized the time-suck it was and how I was addicted to the validation. Which is what the model is intended to feed.

Good job, homie. Nothing to miss!

To be certain, clinical depression and social media sadness are two entirely different things.
