Seeing how its non contact right now, I’m not worried about him working on mechanics without it.

Freak non contact knee injuries happen. And a brace does help that. But we’re 2 years out from his last knee issue (IIRC). The ligaments have recovered fully (as much as they will) by now.

And tbh- getting rolled over with a knee brace puts other joints (ankle, foot/toe) at greater risk.

All in all- I’d rather him have it off to get a better feel for stepping into throws and throwing on the run etc.

 

100% believe that Mariota and all Titan OLineman should have knee braces on, Mary for just his lead leg.

You cannot control guys rolling up on you and the only thing saving you is a brace. Both knee injuries to Lewan and Conklin last year would've easily been prevented had they been wearing a brace, FACT. Now Conk is coming off a major ACL and will never be the same and quite possibly will miss a few games.

If these guys were WRs, i'd think differently, but since they constantly play in a pile with guys falling/rolling around their legs wearing a brace is the only thing they can control.

2nd year in a row Mary making a poor functional health decision. I called it last year with his weight loss, and sho 'nuff he wasn't right for at least 6 games due to the Hamstring.

 

Will any Titan fan forgive him if he sustains a serious knee injury to his lead leg and wasn't wearing a brace?

 

You've said it before JC, "the best attribute a QB can have is availability". What good is his 4.4 speed if he's constantly in a state of injury? How many times weeks 3-16 last year could he actually OPEN it up without shredding the hamstring? This was all due to him being too lean.
