In related news, when the following QBs retire

Tom Brady become president of the Detroit Lions

Drew Brees will become offensive coordinator of the Indianapolis Colts

Ben Roethlisberger will become GM of the Cincinnati Bengals

Aaron Rogers will buy a piece of the Oakland Raiders

I love the "come home Peyton" people. Peyton spent four of his 39 years of life in Knoxville, so he would obviously want to spend the rest of his life in a city that is about three hours away and has nothing to do with UT.

It makes about as much sense as him being the GM/part owner of the Panthers. Same exact circumstances, just happens to cross an invisible state line.

What does being a UT fan have to do with a discussion about an article written by someone who is likely not a UT fan?

    They should try reading this:

Because face it, the state of Tennessee does not mean that much to Peyton Manning.

Because he is writing it for certain people to read, UT fans.

And because he is a lazy hack writer who knows this speculation will get clicks.

UT has nothing to do with it. Titans likely has a spot for hom and Polian. Not too many other teams offer that and a good qb to start, along with a serviceable d.

I get that people who are not UT fans love to take shots at any point they can, but to say that the state means nothing to him is simply stupid. Look at all the charitable events and such he holds within the state.

Also, just so you know, I'm a UT fan and couldn't care less what Peyton does. While at Tennessee he never beat Florida and didn't win the NC. I have never cheered for an nfl team he has played for just because he is on the team. I don't care who the new president or GM is for the Titans as long as they can assemble a winning team. I do think Manning has the ability to do that as a GM but it has nothing to do with his connection with UT.
