Defense does win championships. However points are still required.

Just Win.

 

Chemistry is also important, I think we have that, the defense is playing better than expected. The offense has talent, just needs to find its groove with Davis missing time, Mariota having off year and Murray taking time from Henry.

It all clicks and comes together today.

Agree with this....IMO our secondary (particularly Adoree Jackson) has grown quite a bit this season. Still more work to do there, but better than I was expecting at the start of the season.

However, as you mention, this growth has been offset by the regression of our offense...hopefully we can fix that today, but after 16 games.....

 

This is why I said it's overachieving.

 

If you have the right personnel, our defense is relatively easy to take advantage of.

Get rid of it quick, up tempo drives.

I mean that's basically what Pitt adjusted to in the 2nd half. They established the blueprint to beat us. Assuming you can take advantage of it.

Problem is, our defense is weak and that's pretty much the style of defense Lebeau has it play to mask it's weaknesses.

As I've said before... overachieving defense.

 

Another thing that jumped out at me, is how bad we got gashed on short plays with no adjustment. We don’t play the 3-4 well at all. We don’t have the LB’s for it. Go 4-3. Another thing, we only dressed 4 DL. Wtf?...only 4?This staff man....

Aside, I agree. They really needed more rotation guys and Dodd was a joke. I'd actually like to see the guy play just to see if he's as bad a bust as he seems.
