I'm not so much saying that Adams is cheap as I'm saying that he may not think the team can win it all next season (as this season has indicated), so he may not go "all in" like some owners probably will.

I don't think he'd go all in, but I don't see him scaling back. If anything, our competitiveness might improve because of the teams that scale back significantly. If we think that there are a bunch of terrible teams this year that aren't competitive, next year will be much worse if there is no salary cap.

Hopefully, they'll get a deal worked out right after the season, before the new league year starts. I think the players are starting to realize the trouble that they could be in, so hopefully they'll make enough concessions and get it done.

Yeah, I doubt we get to the point where the uncapped year becomes a reality. The players union already seems to be caving and I expect a deal to get done (that, like always, is favorable to the league).

The NFL has too good a thing going to blow it. I can see the players getting a little more TV revenue in exchange for set contracts for rookies.

How does a Uncapped season work?

Does it mean the Rich owners can throw around as much money as they want and buy out all the good players?

Yep, the rich owners will sign all the players. Get ready for Chris Johnson the Dallas Cowboy. All players are fair game. You will also probably see some old names come back with huge contracts. I've heard that the Redskins want to sign Jerry Rice. Also, in an uncapped year all touchdowns are worth 8 points.

  8. Sort of. There are some limits. Mainly for the last 8 teams in the playoffs, including Jerry Jones.

Also, there are few players available.

Players who get released would usually be a cap penalty towards the teams, I believe there is now no penalties for the year.

  10. Correct. For trades as well, so there will be a lot more trading of players.

On the flip side, teams now have no reason to cut players to get under the cap, so fewer players will get cut. Only players who are due some sort of roster bonus will get cut before free agency starts. In theory, a team could hold on to some player until the week before the first game of the year.
