I thought the titans needed a center??????

The plan is to suck. Ive become numb to the entire situation.

I wanted a Center REALLY REALLY bad in this draft, but obviously it didn't happen. I'm pretty shocked and not sure what the FO has planned, but the only things I think of are:

#1 - They wanted to wait to pick up a FA C depending on what happened in the draft. Obviously they didn't like any C that were on the board when they were picking and will be looking for an FA now.

#2 - They feel EA's replacement is already on the roster. Velasco, Matthews or Harris

#3 - The pass blocking was good last year, and with the addition of a new 1st rd WR and possibly big pass catching TE they are going to shift the style of offense to something more like Green Bay/ NE. More 3 and 4 WR sets, more effective running and less pounding CJ up the middle. If that is the case, the pass blocking becomes more important than run blocking, and we were fine protecting the QB last year.

#4 - Matthews has already said that he will give his son every chance to stay on the team/play. Some how he has brain washed Munch and the FO to thinking that we don't need a C so his son will still have a place on the team.

 

Well he is from Indiana. Pretty sure A.D. has an entire forum dedicated to their suckiness.

Sure you will. If a good center is cut, and we sign him, im pretty sure everyone will be excited about it.

I still have a hard time that the staff will let Amano start next season. They tried replacing him, it didnt work out on several occasions.

Its just a matter of finding out WHO they will replace him with.

 

I hope your right, but right now at the conclusion of the 2012 draft Amano is the starting C on the Titans with no apparent competition.

This is even worse than fishface forcing that overpaid MLB Sirmon on the Titans in 2006 instead of cutting his crippled butt and signing someone who could actually play in the NFL.

 

I'm optimistic... the team made big splashes in FA for centers but nobody bit.. then the team avoided Centers in the draft like the plague... something's fishy...
